| LA GOLD Swim Team’s mission is to have an aquatics program that teaches and trains all levels of swimmers, emphasizing individual progress, team unity, and family participation. We strive to provide a rewarding, exciting experience for the youth and parents of our community through instruction and competition in swimming. We aim to develop the characteristics of dedication, personal responsibility, goal setting, team building, and sportsmanship as well as provide opportunities for youth to develop and excel in a supportive environment. Finally, we strive to promote an appreciation for swimming both as a sport and as a life-long healthy form of exercise and enjoyment |

| Philosophy The LA GOLD program is characterized philosophically by the principles of hard work and personal development. Additionally, this program will strive to guide and direct each swimmer toward the maximum development of his/her talents and abilities. Similarly, the LA GOLD coaching staff endeavors to teach, train, and motivate young people to achieve their ultimate potential in swimming in the belief that this experience will prove valuable to them as they grow and develop. The LA GOLD program strives to instill in young swimmers an understanding of and appreciation for such concepts as high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting, and goal achievement as these ideas relate to their success in training and in competition. It is our belief that the process of achieving is as significant as realizing the achievement itself. At each level of the LA GOLD program, swimmers are instructed to strive for excellence. Excellence in this sense represents the achievement of that level at which you know that you have done your utmost to become the best you are capable of becoming. This philosophy is consistent throughout the program, and every GATOR, novice to future Olympic hopeful, is encouraged to realize that “Dreams Begin Here”. To accomplish this mission and impart our philosophy, the LOUISIANA GOLD GATOR SWIM TEAM has several key goals and objectives: Objectives 1. To enable swimmers to learn, train, and compete at their highest individual level of achievement. 2. To continue to improve and expand aquatics programs for the community, enrolling the greatest number of individuals possible while maintaining the highest levels of quality. 3. To develop a strong team where individual swimmers support each other through the rigors and ups and downs of training and competition. 4. Regularly place swimmers in the state competition and to become one of the top competitive programs in the state, region, and nation. 5. Develop swimmers that are competitive on a regional and national level. |
